The Summary tab shows two lists in job costing. The Estimated and the Actual. As an Antitheft measure, the estimated footage, work areas and materials are “locked down” once the work order is generated. Only a high-level administrator may adjust the information that was originally Estimated. However, the Actual Materials Installed maybe adjusted in any way necessary to provide accurate job costing. In inventory adjustments, all materials required for the job are listed, and additional material may be added or returned. Estesys will keep a record of what was estimated and what was used. If a paper work order was generated, the installer will fill in the inventory used, along with the time to be calculated by hours, piece rate, prevailing wage, percentage splits, extra pay or any combination for installer pay, by an office personnel. If you use our mobile work order app, an installer will enter material used and hours, thus updating the job costing for review and approval by a job costing manager. Once a work order is generated you may invoice the job phase at any time. If it is an ongoing job phase, you can progress bill any percentage until the phase is complete. If areas are added while on the job, there is an area to add additional work areas as well as addition other costs to each phase. The Summary screen shows you what the costs were when the job was estimated. As you complete your job costing it updates to show you the actual cost, so any difference is easy to see. This is helpful for ongoing jobs as you can track against amounts still left to invoice and install.
